Associate of Applied Science Degree – 1999
From a young age, Mr. Wardlaw learned the value of hard work and dedication while working in and alongside various trades. This experience gave him a deep appreciation for the men and women who work in these industries. After his time in the trades, Alex worked in retail and commercial sales of professional and industrial coatings, where he learned the importance of quality and attention to detail. His passion for technical drawings, buildings, cabinets, and civil features led him to pursue an Associate of Applied Science Degree in AutoCAD. In the years since, Alex has worked across various drafting disciplines, including cabinet architecture, floorplans, lot layouts, structural engineering, and civil engineering. Through these experiences, he has discovered his true passion for civil engineering, which he has pursued for the last 20 years. Throughout his career, Alex has been involved in numerous land development and municipal projects across multiple jurisdictions in and around Harris, Fort Bend, Brazoria, and Montgomery counties, as well as the cities of Houston, Katy, Richmond, Rosenberg, Pearland, League City, and Webster. These projects have provided him with a wealth of knowledge and expertise, allowing him to identify potential issues during the design stage and ensure that projects are executed efficiently and effectively. As plan production manager, he takes pride in overseeing, training, and mentoring junior technicians, designers, E.I.T.’s, and design engineers while maintaining Odyssey’s CAD/Drafting standards. Mr. Wardlaw’s attention to detail and commitment to excellence have enabled him to excel in this role and provide our clients with work of the highest quality. As a Houston native, Alex is passionate about serving his community and contributing to its growth and development. He resides in Pearland and is proud of his career as a civil designer with a wealth of experience and expertise.
