Mrs. Peters decided she wanted to be an engineer in the 7th grade when she won a math and science award from the Society of Women Engineers. Earning a degree at Texas A&M was a given, as this was the college her father and uncle attended. Her favorite courses were traffic engineering, and because of this, she interned for three summers with the Texas Department of Transportation. Angie worked in the laboratory, testing samples and assisting with the construction management of road crews. She accepted a position with the Harris County Engineering Traffic Department upon graduation. She spent half her time designing traffic signals, preparing traffic control plans, and conducting warrant studies and the other half reviewing construction plans produced by private engineering companies.
Angie’s second favorite course at Texas A&M was land planning; she knew she would eventually want a job in that field. Four years later, when given the opportunity to transition from the public to the private sector working in land development, she jumped at the chance. She started designing single family land development projects, which naturally led to working with municipal utility district (MUD) clients. In her 20-year career, Mrs. Peters has worked with land developers on Harris and Montgomery Counties subdivisions. She has served as District Engineer for MUDs in Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Waller, and Galveston Counties and created several of these. Her focus at Odyssey Engineering Group is MUDs, and she currently serves as a MUD Board Director in her neighborhood MUD.
Angie and her family spend free time at their country house outside of Houston, where they have acreage, and the only sounds are from nature.
