Ms. Gonzalez grew up in an engineering family where her father was a structural engineer, and her mother was a pipeline drafter. She was drawn to civil engineering because it allows her to engage directly with the community while working to improve their infrastructure.
Throughout her career, Ms. Gonzalez has designed utility infrastructure, participated in the master planning for communities, and coordinated with government agencies to incorporate their standards for improvements within the community.
Ms. Gonzalez works daily with MUDs on improvements needed for their community. Whether that means coordinating a waterline extension, wastewater treatment plant expansion, or rehabilitating drainage structures to provide adequate facilities for their residents, she works with boards of directors, attorneys, and other consultants to ensure that the infrastructure meets the needs of the residents to live comfortably in their community.
